About
My research is into the role played by Modernist little magazines in the gender discourse of the early twentieth century, including their support of, and objection to, women writers.
The thesis focuses on Rebecca West and several of the magazines that featured her work.
Special attention is paid to West's Dialectical Imagination, discursive and rhetorical styles, in particular her appropriation and redirection of traditionally masculine idioms and axioms.
